Came shortly after the Chinese “Detective Dee” series began, and in many ways oddly similar. “Detective Dee” series is much better story telling & special effects. “Detective K” storytelling is stereotypical murder/horror with attempts at humor. The horror in this case is supposedly vampire (yes, the age old plot hook – it never dies), but you don’t see much of that (if any, really). Cute vampiress tries to find her roots, but editing and story itself was all over the place disjointed – no flow or coherence. There was subtitling, but often didn’t seem to make story sense or match what was going on. Korean drama should stick to it’s car chase crime; rom-coms; and one good fantasy “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho”.
